LESSON 78: Double knot stitch, French knot palestrina stitch, or pearl stitch

Tutorial for Double knot stitch, French knot palestrina or pearl stitch:

It is sewn from left to right and is often used on lines and curved edges with exquisite looking knots. An isolated dot forms a beautiful, tiny floral motif.

- Fig. A: Take out the needle at 1, put it in 2 and take it out at 3, taking a small point on the other side of the line.

- Fig. B: Put the needle from top to bottom under the previous point but without going through the fabric, that is, under the thread. Pass the needle until a small loop remains.

-Fig. C: Hold the bow to the left with your left thumb. Pass the needle again through the same point from top to bottom without piercing the fabric, to the right of the loop. You have to hold it carefully and tight. Repeat the steps as many times as you need. The knots can be sewn together or separately.

-Fig. D: Separate dots can be used to achieve splash fill effects or to represent small flowers. It ends with a small dot on the right.

Materials

• You need a blunt needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
• Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
• Special pearl or mouliné thread. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn
• Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
• Light, the more the better and to be able to be natural
