Tutorial for two-color chain stitch-Magic chain stitch. Checkered chain:

We present you this tutorial for two-color chain stitch-Magic chain stitch. Checkered chain for you to enjoy

It is often used for straight and curved lines or in rows closely together to make a fill. We warn you that it is difficult to have a regular point without first practicing. The stitches must be quite long. On the other hand, a firm and rounded thread will further enhance the effect of the twist. Work from top to bottom.

- Fig. A: Use two different colored threads on the same needle. Take this out at 1 and put it in the same place forming a loop with the two threads. Pull the needle back out at 2 with the light thread under the needle and the dark thread on top. Pass the needle so that the light thread forms a chain stitch while the dark thread disappears on the wrong side of the fabric

Figure Step: A

Fig. B: Insert the needle in 2 into the last stitch, form a loop with the threads and pull the neele out again in 3, with the dark thread under the needle with all the thread and you will see how the dark thread makes a chain stitch and the light thread disappears

Fig. C: Repeat the steps as many times as you want. If you wish, you can alternate two light points with two dark ones. Close the chain with a lockstitch.

From here we invite you to try it and you will be surprised by the effect. I encourage you to try and you will love it.

Materials

  • You need a blunt needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
  • Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
  • Special pearl or mouliné thread. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn
  • Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
  • Light, the more the better and to be able to be natural
