LESSON 102: POINT OF THE CROSS SAN JORGE

St George cross stitch tutorial:

With this tutorial for cross stitch of Saint George, we show you that what you knew as normal cross stitch has many more varieties, and this is one more. With this new point you will discover a fantasy point that you will love.

This stitch is used in lines, scattered, or as a solid or patterned fill, often used in black work.

To achieve a uniform look, always work the top of the cross threads in the same direction. Normal is from bottom to top, as it appears in the photos.

The first pass is worked from right to left.

Fig. A: Take out the needle in 1 and put it in 2. Repeat the steps as many times as you need.

Fig. B: Work the second pass from left to right. Pull the needle out at 3 and down at 4, making a vertical cross stitch through the center of each horizontal stitch.

Repeat as many times as you need.

Materials

• You need a sharp pointed needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
• Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
• Special thread for sewing. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn if it is to decorate something
• Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
