It is used in light, open fillings, for small or medium areas, it is often used with other decorative stitches. The tissue should be firmly extended.

How do you do that?

Fig. A: First work a series of long horizontal stitches through the figure, working from top to bottom: Pull yarn into 1, pull into 2, pull out into 3 and pull into 4.

Repeat towards the lower margin. Now make a series of long vertical stitches, working from left to right: pull out the needle in 5, put it in 6, pull it out in 7 and put it in 8. Repeat to fill the figure. If you prefer, work from right to left.

To form the pattern, right cross stitches and loose chain stitches are added. Other stitches that can be used in this way are the French knots, the starry stitch or the cross stitch.
