What is it used for?

Used for filler stitch for small to medium sized areas with a distinctive appearance, similar to knitting: A line can be worked individually to create an eye-catching, decorative stripe.

How do you do that?

Fig. A: Pull the needle out at 1, and pull it in at 2 with a long stitch. If the area measures more than 12 mm wide, secure in the round pass with small vertical stitches at regular intervals, pulling the needle out at 3 and tucking it in at 4.

Fig. D: Pull the needle out at 7. Pass the needle from right to left under two strands of the top loop, without piercing the fabric and with the working yarn under the needle. Repeat to the right and insert the needle at 8. Repeat this row as needed, without over-tightening so that the bottom edge is flat.

To vary the shape, add or omit stitches at the side edges. At the bottom edge, secure each loop with a small vertical stitch.
