What is it used for?

It is possible to work diagonally, horizontally or vertically, but diagonally is recommended because it distorts the canvas the least. The horizontal and vertical methods are preferably reserved for small details, where the diagonal method would be inadequate. It is possible to work through two or more intersections of the canvas, instead of one, if a longer stitch type is required.

How do you do that?

Works from right to left.

Fig. DWork the next row in the opposite direction: if you find it difficult to turn the stitch, work as explained here, pulling the needle out on 1 and putting it in on 2.

If you prefer the other system, turn the work around and stitch the next row from right to left, as you have just done.

On the reverse side of the work, long slanted stitches are formed.

I have used nuanced crochet thread that goes from red to pink and back to red.

Repeat this point as many times as necessary.
