What is it used for?

Used in pronounced zigzag patterns, unsuitable for small areas. Starts at the top left.

How do you do that?

Embroider a diagonal row of fantasy plaid stitch as shown in the picture.

Fig. A: Make a zigzag row of half stitches from the bottom right to the bottom left, as shown. Repeat these two rows, fitting the plaid stitches next to the half stitches as in the drawing.

Fig. B: To work in two colors, first embroider all the lines of fancy plaid stitch up and down the canvas. Fill in the spaces with half-stitch lines with the second color.

Repeat the rows as many times as needed.
