What is it used for?

This point has a texture suitable for large areas.

Work all the stitches of each unit in the same order.

How do you do that?

Start at the top left:

Fig. ADraw the needle out at 1, cast it in at 2, draw it out at 3 and cast it in at 4, creating a large straight cross stitch. Draw the needle out at 5, cast it in at 6, draw it out at 7 and cast it in at 8, making a cross stitch over the straight cross. Bring the needle back out at 9 to start the next repeat to the right.

Fig. B: Work the next row from right to left. Work the stitches of each unit in the same order as above so that they fit together as shown.
