Yugoslavian stitch 008:

Yugoslavian stitch embroidery (008), also called flame stitch, originates from the former Yugoslavia. It is a well-known embroidery in Spain and Portugal, which shows characteristic geometric motifs.

Its simplicity is dazzling and it is often one of the first types of embroidery to learn. It is usually seen in tablecloths and other household clothes.

Here's another nice sample of Yugoslavian knit. It will look great on any border you want to use. It is the elegant point par excellence. Practice it!

Here is another nice sample of Yugoslavian stitch. I hope you like it and practice it. It's worth it. You can put it on curtains, towels, tea towels, cushions, quilts, etc.

In the first few rows, (in this case, the outer rows) is where you calculate the measurements well and is what you have to guide you. And it is in the center where you lengthen the stitches you need until you reach your measurement, either by adding "mountains" or by adding backstitches.

It is usually seen in tablecloths and other household clothes. A point that does not leave indifferent. It is fine and elegant with endless combinations.

Here I am already making the first inner turn of the outer part.

As you can see, it is the first turn that has given us the clue, because then you sew the following turns inward.

I have added one more blue lap and I start with another inside lap, which in this case I have colored gold.

We continue sewing towards the inside as in the photo below:

One more golden inner lap

We continue with inside laps:

Last inner lap

There is still one more lap left, which in this case I am going to sew on the outside. It is turning out beautifully:

I sewed the last loop in black.

Look how beautiful. Use as many colors as you want. Give wings to your imagination and the result will be incredible...

And in this photo I show you how I have closed the outside so that the fabric does not peel:

A clear example of precious points that you can make yourself.

You only have to expand through the centers until you reach the measure you need. Then, inside you can decorate it with a fantasy point and the edges with a fabric that you like.

Do not think about it any more and follow the tutorials that we put here because it will open your imagination. From here we invite you to try them and you will love them.

We can play with colors and textures of threads, even with fabrics to have more and more options for changes.

Materials

  • You need a blunt needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
  • Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
  • Special pearl or mouliné thread. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn
  • Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
  • Light, the more the better and to be able to be natural
