🧵✨ The Art of Stitching Revealed! Safety pin! 🌟 Lesson 5
15 de March de 2024Video tutorial to sew linear stitch, backstitch or backstitch
📌 This is lesson 5 of our course. If you haven't seen lesson 1, start with it. Here I leave you the link: Lesson 1: Learn to cross stitch ✂️
✂️ In this tutorial, you will enter the world of the backstitch stitch, also known as backstitch or linear stitch. Ideal for highlighting silhouettes or covering imperfections, topstitching is usually sewn with a single strand, although some prefer up to 3 strands for a more marked effect. To start, it is essential to choose the right material. I recommend starting with scrim or Aida fabric 14 or 12 if you're looking for a more advanced challenge. Numbering on Aida fabric determines the spacing between stitches, influencing the size of the stitch and the clarity of the design. As for tools, you will need a round-point needle to avoid unwanted holes in the fabric. The thimble is also useful to avoid punctures. Use six-strand Egyptian cotton thread, separating two by two to sew lockstitch. Additionally, a hoop is essential to keep the fabric taut and make sewing easier. You can choose between wooden, plastic or silicone racks, depending on your preferences. And remember, patience is key in embroidery, so take your time

Recommended Materials:
- You need a blunt needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
- Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
- Special pearl or mouliné thread. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn
- Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
- Light, the more the better and to be able to be natural
