Lesson 117: DOUBLE CORAL STITCH
13 de January de 2022Tutorial for double coral stitch:
With this tutorial we show you a different type of fantasy stitch that you are sure to use a lot in your embroidery.
This stitch is used on light, zigzag, straight or curved edges. Work from top to bottom:
Fig. A: Start by making a coral stitch on the right: pull the needle out in 1, make a loop with the thread and insert the needle into 2. Pull it out again in 3, inside the loop.
Fig. B: Make two more coral points diagonally down and to the left: point 4 is at the same level as point 3, and point 6 is at the same level as point 5.
Fig. C: Now make two coral stitches diagonally down to the right, in the same way. Continue as you need, making two stitches to the left and two stitches to the right.
And how does the back look?, very thin. Here I’ll show you:

Materials
- You need a sharp pointed needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
- Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
- Special thread for sewing. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn if it is to decorate something
- Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
- Light, the more the better and to be able to be natural
