Tutorial for rococo stitch.

What is it used for?

Pattern for large areas. Spectacular, large-scale, interlocked lantern-shaped pattern, which is quickly worked for large areas. This stitch is made similarly to the French stitch, but with larger units.

How do you do that?

Start at the top right:

Fig. A: Draw the needle out on 1, cast it in on 2, draw it out on 3. Then pass the needle under the vertical stitch you just made and cast it in on 4, making a backstitch stitch to hold the first vertical stitch. Bring the needle back out at 1, slip it in at 2, bring it out at 5 and slip it in at 3, thus holding the second vertical stitch. Cast on a third vertical stitch from 1 to 2 and fasten off with a backstitch from 6 to 5. Cast on a fourth vertical stitch from 1 to 2 and fasten off with a backstitch from 7 to 6. Remove the needle at 8 and start the next series to the left.

Fig. BIn the following rows the units fit between the ones above, as shown. Work the second row from left to right: pull the needle out at 9 and slip it into 10. Fasten this vertical stitch down to the left with a backstitch stitch from 11 to 12. Make three more vertical stitches, holding them with backstitches and working from left to right. Repeat these two rows as needed.

• You need a sharp pointed needle. In your trusted haberdashery they can advise you on this.
• Canvas fabric
• Thimble, we know that it is not easy to get used to it, but the earlier you adapt, the better, you will avoid many punctures.
• Special thread for sewing. Or you can also use fine crochet yarn if it is to decorate something
• Frame, there are made of wood, plastic and silicone. Lately I spend the silicone ones because I like them better, but that goes to taste.
• Light, the more the better and to be able to be natural
