"TWO WOMEN RUNNING ON THE BEACH" CROSS STITCH PATTERNS BY PICASSO

These are the cross stitch patterns of the painting Two women running on the beach, by Picasso. A work that has a whole history behind it.

In the summer of 1922, Pablo Picasso proposes to Diaghilev the race as a backdrop for the ballet Le train bleu, with a theme written by Jean Cocteau, music by Darius Milhaud and costumes by Chanel.

The small painting, now kept in the Musée Picasso de Paríswas to serve as a sketch to present to the director. It depicts two huge, discomposed women running along the beach: the ballet was, in effect, a paean to sport and nudism.

The two figures, rather than running out of breath, seem to be dancing.

The reference to Antiquity is once again obligatory: the stiff, firm drapery of the tunics and the uncoordinated movements recall the dancing maenads of Greek art, and not only that; the composition recalls those used in Poussin's mythological works in the National Gallery in London. Despite the swollen, disproportionate forms, the two women retain a sensuality similar to that of the Great Bather.

We will send the physical shipments of cross stitch patterns through the mail and it may take a few days to arrive. They are certified and with notice of receipt. We also have the option of cash on delivery, which means that you will only pay for shipping when you receive the package.
